We return to the Oakland Freedom Jazz Society @ Studio Grand next Monday, September 17. We’ve got three premieres, a recent fave and one of our calling card tunes on the set list. We’ve been out of sight recently, but busy in the recording studio. When one brings a new composition in to workshop with a group, one never knows what will manifest itself–it was positively cinematic this time around. Little did Cory know that his new piece “Lines of Work” would bring Murray Campbell’s love of David Cronenberg’s body horror movies to the sonic fore. Nor did I think of my new piece “Theme Park” as “the soundtrack for the pets left behind at the abandoned space station.” Lord knows what “Vape Trail” will inspire in you the listener. You’ll have to be there in person to get the full effect. Hope to see you!
