Meet the Composers + CD Release

Bristle returns to the Foothills this coming Friday, January 27.  We’ll be at the Nevada City Winery as part of the Nevada County Composers Cooperative‘s Meet the Composers series–starts at 7:30, there will be wine, hors d’ouvres, and great music.  Cory & I will be talking about our compositional styles–our plan is to tag team the audience, keep them guessing–and Bristle will be there to manifest them live!  Our brand-new CD Bulletproof is due for release this coming week, so those lucky enough to attend can pick up a still-smoking memento.

It’s going to be fun–our styles are so different, Cory’s perhaps more contrapuntal and multi-sectional, whereas my pieces tend to put group unisons through a kind of continual fracture.  Then again, there’s a mutual influence between us–we intersect in that we’re always juggling musical notation, graphics and words to coax the music out of the group in any given piece.  PLUS Lisa and Murray will be chiming in about how they help shape the pieces from rehearsal to performance.

And of course the Q&A is always my favorite part of these events.  Hope to see you all there!
